July 10th, 2009 Not lost…
Well, there are some friends that you could see everyday and not tire of. There are some you probably couldn’t be around everyday, but you feel a special connection and appreciate them for who they truly are. I don’t know where I fall in the category as a friend but I’m sure it varies with all the people I know.
I have been so blessed to have in my life many friends, but the ones that really stand out are the people you shared heartache, laughter and great joys together in life. I’m talking about those that know you better than you know yourself sometimes. Can friends be soulmates?
Sometimes everyday life may separate you and your friend – but if they are true they will re-enter your life like a whisper and you pick up right where you left off. Unfortunately you missed all the heartaches, laughter and great joy in between, but you catch up, not skipping a beat.
I saw one of those friends last night – although time had passed, the way we feel about each other will never fade. This friendship is different than any other I have ever had – I have always thought of them as family that I was lucky enough to pick. I won’t go into great detail about the reunion – but it was incredible and I am so freakin’ happy they are all back in my life.
I am grateful for the heartache, laughter and joys we have shared over 18 years…much love to you my dear friends!

Love the blog. So true. I am very blessed to have a friend like that. Even though we live 400 miles apart we still talk (infrequently) and can pick up right where we left off last time. We have known each other for 30 years. We have never judged each other although we didn’t always agree. We accepted each other for who we are. We know things about each other that even our spouses don’t know. I am going to go call her now. Thanks for reminding me how rare and precious this friendship is.
